After having heard Please Don’t Leave Me, I was initially disappointed that Sober was chosen as the second single. Having said that, it is a grower and with more people than ever being interested in Pink at the moment, perhaps it was a wise decision to release Sober next. Her first single So What has been the most successful song of her career, even though it’s arguably not her best work!

Sober doesn’t have a memorable tune or a strong hook that will grab your attention, but if you give it a chance, it’ll crawl under your skin. I found the lyrics intriguing so kept listening to the song and now I’ve been sucked in. Sober is the type of song that can be put on repeat without getting annoying. The lyrics can be interpreted in so many different ways, but I feel it’s more about being addicted than sober. She’s been in agony, heard herself cry but won’t let that happen again. The “you” she refers to in the chorus could be drugs or weed?? It makes her feel like: “I’m safe up high / No pain inside”. And she’s so high she feels sober...... But the line “Why do I feel this party’s over?” makes me think she’s had enough of the drugs even though it feels good. “When it's good, then it's good / It's all good til it goes bad / Til you try to find the you that you once had.” Of course it could also be about an addictive relationship that she's trying to get over.......Aargh it’s giving me a headache so I’ll stop there! Now, how do I get over my addiction to Sober?
